海铭学校优秀毕业生——郐文康同学现就读于烟台一中高二（1）班。2004-2006年，她在海铭学校系统学习了新概念英语、公共等级英语等课程。在校期间，她勤奋好学、善于思考，在钻研语法、基础知识的同时，更注重英语口语和综合能力的训练。在2005年CCTV第六届希望之星英语风采大赛中，她以地道的发音、娴熟的口语赢得了山东省第一名的佳绩。

　　在海铭学校多年的英语学习基础，使郐文康同学在考入烟台一中后很快脱颖而出，英语成绩和口语能力均名列前茅。在烟台一中第八届21世纪报杯英语演讲大赛中夺得高中组第一名，同时被授予最佳语音、最佳表现力的称号。

　　现在，虽然每天学习压力很大，但她对英语的热爱却有增无减。每天阅读大量的英文资料、上网搜索最新国内外动态、涉猎各类书籍以拓展知识面和视野、与老师和同学用英文激烈讨论，成为她每天必修的功课。

　　因此仅仅上高二的她，凭借良好的英语素养和突出的表现成为了烟台一中英语报的主编，负责报纸的策划和所有稿件的审阅工作，而这些工作以前都是由英语教师负责的。

　　在学习氛围浓厚、精英云集的烟台一中，有一个闪耀的舞台属于这个文质彬彬的女孩，在那儿她实现着对自我的挑战和超越。

Torch Relay spreads the Love
When still immersing in the excitement of Olympic Torch Relay, we’re suddenly shocked by an unexpected earthquake measured 8.0 magnatitude in Wenchuan. Though suffered the huge loss and unimaginable pain, our nation are not defeated. On the contrary, it has proved to the world that the Olympic torch we conveied this year, is an intangible strength which unites all people both home and abroad far beyond the traditional athletic spirit.
Premier Wenjiabao and Chairman Hujintao directed the rescue work on the spot in person; the PLA soldiers spared no efforts saving people for hours on end; Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan compatriots has given funds and donation support and international aid has been extremely helpful. At one point, billions of hearts gathered together, coverging into a stream of love. Then “ Come on Wenchuan! Come on China! Come on, Olympics!” become the most sincere support from people all over the world.
For the following torch relay, all people presented all mourn the victims in the earthquake for 1 minute and more than 140 countries’ leaders have headed for the Chinese Embassy extending their grief and condolences. Also, our country has set 3 days specially memorizing those whose lives have been torn apart during this terrible tragedy.
During that 3 days, the scared fire just stands silently, extending grief for the dead, and meanwhile, storing passion for the alive. Yet, since the grief is not the destination but the strength will promote the eternity, on May 22nd, the scared fire was relighted. Now, like a phoenix who has experienced the tough pain and struggle, the torch is becoming stronger and more aspiring! Carried the significance of life, the value of man, the unity of the world, it perfectly merges the Olympic Spirit and torch relay of love and China’s spirit of fortitude together! From Olympian in Greece to Himalayas in China, one world is sharing a common dream! Throughout the disasters and tears, wherever it arrives, it will light the love, light the passion, light our common dream!
Now, life is going on, torch relay is going on and our love is going on. As the China’s catastrophe has roused the love of the whole world, today’s Beijing Olympic torch is becoming an assembly of love! Now, let’s light the passion, share the dream, make our world full of love !
